Hey guys, this is what I was talking about on Tues. Like I said, the reason we are posting this blog is so that everyone can share the exciting things that are going on in their life. We all would love to hear about what God's doing and what's new w/you!!! Please feel free to leave stories, prayer requests, encouragement for others (I know we could all use some lol) and just general thoughts about God and life.
I'll go ahead and start us off with a huge praise...my dad had surgery about 6 months ago to remove a cancerous growth. A month or so ago he went in for some follow-up testing and they found that he had several swollen lymph nodes. That could either mean one of two things:
1.) He has some sort of infection
or
2.) The cancer has returned and is spreading through his body (the lymph nodes spread disease)
Obviously the former was what we were hoping for but when he went in for another test last week they found that those lymph nodes were swollen even more =( They immediately scheduled him for another test this week in anticipation that the cancer had returned. It is a pretty intensive test and he has supposedly been radioactive for the past several days (meaning he has to stay away from children and pets and he sets off metal detectors lol!) We just found out the results of the test earlier today and it is NOT cancer!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! :) He has to speak with the doctor to figure out exactly what is going on but it is such a relief to know that his cancer has not returned. Thank you everyone who has prayed, your prayers have been heard and they were def appreciated!
We as a community at Surge would love to hear about things going on in your life so I would encourage you to post your stories in the comment section of this blog. I look forward to hearing from each of you!
