I bet you didn't know this won a prime time emmy!  It's going to be a fun time this Sunday as we take a break from normal Surge Challenge and enjoy a Thanksgiving celebration.

By the way, you can let us know what you're thankful to God for this Thanksgiving.  This thread is open for your "thanksgiving comments!"

Remember, no Surge the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and no Surge Challenge the Sunday after Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, 11/24/09, and Sunday, 11/29/09there is no Surge and Surge Challenge due to Thanksgiving Break.

Surge Small Groups are on tomorrow!

If you are not meeting tomorrow with your small group  tomorrow, you will be in "large" group with BJ. Here are the groups that are meeting tomorrow:

- Mrs. D' and Bres 6th grade girls (Randi, Amanda, Megan M., Gabrielle, Riley, and Olivia)

161 cans!

Which is about 10 cans per student!

I'm really glad that we were able to help out the Wilsonviille Food Bank.  We made a guys group and a girls group.  Many of the houses we visited had cans ready for us thanks to the posters we put up around the neighborhood we targeted.  One house gave us a full bag of cans!  Everybody did a great job in their roles.  Some people talked and some people smiled.   We had practiced our "scripts" earlier in the evening and it was fun to see our students put those scripts into practice.  All in all, I think we served our community well and did it in a manner that was respectful.  My prayer for this event is that we are able to help some families in our community who aren't able to put food on their table.
